NIH confirms new strain of corona virus in Pakistan

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has confirmed the presence of a new strain of corona in Pakistan in the UK. The National Command and Operations Center was told that two Pakistani nationals from the UK had contracted the dangerous B1.1.7 virus.

The meeting of the National Command and Operations Center reviewed the current situation of Corona virus in the country, government measures and implementation of SOPs. During the meeting, it was informed in a briefing by the National Institutes of Health that repatriation from UK. A new strain of corona virus has been confirmed in two Pakistanis.

NIH officials told a meeting of the National Command and Operations that following the news of the presence of a new strain of Corona in Pakistan, a formal investigation was conducted by the National Institutes of Health, which confirmed that two Pakistanis were infected with the virus.

The new strain of corona virus, B1.1.7, appeared in the UK in December. The new strain of the virus spreads faster than the old corona, and the new strain does not show any signs of a rapid outbreak. The new strain of corona virus has spread to more than 30 countries besides Pakistan.
